Great Things Happening in June

Great things are still to come this summer!

Tune yourself to hearing about what I've done in June!

Hey everyone, hope you all have been doing well! It’s been such a HUGE blessing to have you be a part of my life. I appreciate all your prayers and notes of encouragement! I thank God every single day for people like you and so I say it again, thank you.

June has been a very hectic month! I had lots of enjoyable and insightful experiences. This month, I’ve had the chance to preach at youth group, help in community service projects, and be a part of a children’s summer camp.

To expand on each event more; I’ve had the privilege to share a message to the youth at Adventure Christian Church. Currently, the youth group is going through a series called “Lenses”  where we look at common worldview people believe in and see what the Bible says on it. I had the chance to speak based off Luke 18:18-27 (Rich Young Ruler). In the message, I conveyed to the youth that we cannot do anything on our own to be made right in the eyes of God, but to only TRUST IN JESUS to be made right. This upcoming Sunday, I will be giving another message to the youth about humility based off John 13:1-17. I’m very excited to keep on being able to present God’s Word to His people!

The next big event that I was a part of was a community service project where Adventure, as a Church, goes out to serve the community. There were lots of opportunities that the Church did to serve the community. This year, I had the chance to help with Habitats for Humanity, an organization that helps build houses for the community, and help at a Discovery Meadows Park. It was lots of fun and hard work as I met new faces at the Church, build friendships, and learn about construction and weeding! Such great experiences that’ll be used in the near future.

Lastly, I was beyond amazed at how effective summer camp was. This summer I had the privilege of going to Wi-Ne-Ma, a Church camp, to be with 100+ elementary kids! It was tough and exhausting as I had little sleep and had to be very patient with each kid, but it was fruitful. I got to see kids devoting their lives to Jesus, singing songs of worship (the most beautiful noise you could ever hear), and having fun. It’s such a huge blessing to see God at work. At Wi-Ne-Ma, I also had the chance to speak at one of the nights about Jesus. Because of this camp, many have given their lives to Jesus. A true blessing it is to be a part of God’s work.
                                                 GOD IS ON THE MOVE!

These three events are the main takeaways I’ve had from June. Again, I cannot express how truly blessed I am to have you be a part of my adventures this summer. I thank God for such a wonderful experience and for always providing for me! If there are any questions or you would like to reach out to me, my email is: Johnwong1216@gmail.com

New Summer, New Adventures

New Summer, New Adventures!

It's been another great year at Boise Bible College. So many things have happened since I last posted... Right now, I would like to share my transition from the school year into the summer.

For those of you who have not been informed, I have recently been on an adventure. One section of my life has closed and another has begun! This summer, I have closed one chapter of my life and started writing a new one, a one filled with adventure... Adventure at Adventure Christian Church.

I believe that God has called me to learning and growing in a Church environment, far from the comfort of Thailand and Boise. God wanted me to step out of my comfort zone, get plugged into a Church, and start serving in ministry. And that's just what I did. The day after I finished my sophomore year at Boise Bible College, I drove with some friends to McMinnville, Oregon.

Again, this was a culture shock for me. The people, weather, and atmosphere of Oregon is different than Idaho and Thailand. However, I know that God has been faithful and has been with me ever since I started this adventure.

I've seen God's providence in my life. The first day of this internship I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the staff and congregation. All of them were welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. Erik Neilson, the senior pastor of Adventure, has been mentoring me and teaching me the ropes of ministry. Not only that, my host family, Wes and Kristen Thomas, have been so kind to me. Their heart to serve in ministry and hosting me has been a blessing. The Church experience is good, the community is good, and above all, God is good.

There is much for me to learn this summer.
I've already been given lots of responsibilities such as: hosting a soccer summer camp for kids, preaching at Youth group, serving at 2 camps, and many more!

_________________________________________________________________________________
Of course, with all these opportunities for growth, there will be some obstacles.

These obstacles that I've already experienced is:
- being homesick
- getting out of my comfort zone
- my pride

I ask that you continue to pray for me and this new chapter in my life. Pray that:
- God's will be done
- I continue to grow/mature through this experience
- Build connections/network here
- Health/Safety
- Finances

Sorry again for the lack of updates on my life. I hope to continue writing blogs to keep you all posted (and of course there will be pictures to come). Thank you all again for the many prayers and words of encouragement. I couldn't have done it without you or God. Here's to many MORE adventures out there!

Blessings,
John Wongratanamajcha
